Terms & Conditions of Use
By entering and using the wood-fired sauna at Hopi Cabin, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Minimum Age
The sauna may only be used by guests aged 18 and over, or by those aged 16–17 when supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Children must never light, fuel, or operate the stove.
2. Health & Medical Conditions
Sauna use and exposure to high temperatures may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, including but not limited to:
Heart disease
High or low blood pressure
Pregnancy
Respiratory conditions
Skin conditions
Any other underlying health concerns
It is your responsibility to seek medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional before using the sauna.
3. Pregnancy
Pregnant individuals should consult their healthcare provider before using the sauna, as elevated core body temperature may pose risks.
4. Hydration
Sauna use can cause dehydration. Guests must ensure they are well hydrated before, during, and after use.
5. Alcohol, Drugs & Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited:
Alcohol or drug use before or during sauna use
Smoking or vaping inside or near the sauna
Use by anyone visibly intoxicated
Any reckless or unsafe behaviour
We reserve the right to withdraw sauna access without refund if these conditions are breached.
6. Duration & Temperature Safety
The sauna operates at high temperatures (typically 70–90°C).
Guests are responsible for managing their own comfort and safety.
We recommend:
Sessions of 5–15 minutes at a time
Cooling breaks between sessions
Immediate exit if feeling dizzy, faint, or unwell
Use is entirely at your own risk.
7. Jewellery & Personal Items
Remove jewellery, watches, glasses, and metal accessories before entering. Metal surfaces can become extremely hot and may cause burns. No glass items are permitted inside the sauna.
8. Wood-Fired Stove Safety
The sauna is heated by a wood-burning stove, which becomes extremely hot.
For your safety:
Do not touch the stove, flue, or stones while in operation.
Only use the firewood provided.
Do not use accelerants (petrol, lighter fluid, etc.).
Do not overload the stove.
Never leave the stove door open unattended.
Do not burn waste, paper, or any materials other than supplied wood.
Guests are responsible for following the provided lighting and operation instructions.
9. Fire Safety
Guests must:
Ensure the stove door is fully closed during operation.
Stop adding wood at least 30 minutes before finishing.
Never leave the property while the stove is actively burning.
Follow all safety signage and instructions provided.
In the event of an emergency, call 999 and inform us immediately.
10. Usage Guidelines
The sauna is provided exclusively for guests staying at Hopi Cabin and may be used throughout your stay.
You agree to:
Follow all written instructions
Use the sauna responsibly
Leave the sauna in a clean and tidy condition
Report any faults or concerns immediately
Failure to comply may result in loss of access without refund.
11. Damage & Misuse
Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused by misuse, negligence, or failure to follow instructions. This includes damage to the stove, flue, structure, or surrounding areas.
12. Force Majeure
If the sauna becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, safety concerns, maintenance issues), we will inform you as soon as possible. No specific compensation is guaranteed for temporary unavailability.
13. Acknowledgement of Risk
By using the sauna, you acknowledge that sauna use carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Dehydration
Burns
Overheating
Dizziness or fainting
Fire-related risks
You accept full responsibility for your own health, safety, and actions, and for those within your booking party.
Liability
Cove Valley, its owners, and associated parties accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from the use or misuse of the sauna, surrounding areas, access routes, or parking areas, except where caused by proven negligence.
DISCLAIMER
The wood-fired sauna is provided for guest enjoyment; however, its use involves inherent risks due to high temperatures and live-fire heating.
By choosing to use the sauna, you acknowledge and agree that:
You do so voluntarily and at your own risk.
You are responsible for following all lighting, safety, and operating instructions.
You accept full responsibility for your own health, hydration, and wellbeing.
You will not use the sauna if under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you have a medical condition that may make the sauna unsafe.
Cove Valley accepts no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage resulting from sauna use except where caused by proven negligence.
These Terms & Conditions form part of your booking agreement with Cove Valley.
