DOG T&Cs
Bringing your dog to Cove Valley
We're really happy to welcome dogs to Cove Valley. The valley is a living rewilding project, home to grazing Longhorn cattle, Iron Age pigs, wild red deer, beavers and over 50 bird species, many of which nest on the ground. These rules are here so your dog, our wildlife and the next guests all have a lovely time. By booking with a dog, you agree to them.
Booking
Dogs are welcome in Chatan only for now. Ukai will open to dogs soon; Hopi is dog-free.
A maximum of [1] dog per cabin, unless agreed with us in advance.
Your dog must be added to your booking. A fee of £[30] per dog per stay applies.
Dogs brought without being booked may be asked to leave, and a £[100] charge will apply.
Your dog must be at least [6 months] old, house-trained, and fully up to date with vaccinations, flea and worming treatment.
We recommend your dog is covered by pet insurance with third-party liability.
Around the valley
Dogs must be on a lead at all times outside your cabin. No exceptions – even for the most obedient dogs.
Never let your dog chase, approach or disturb the cattle, pigs, deer or any wildlife. If cattle come towards you, let go of the lead and move calmly away – your dog will outrun them.
Please keep dogs out of the ponds, streams and the beaver areas.
Pick up after your dog everywhere, and use the bins provided. Please don't leave bags hanging on trees or fences.
Dogs are not allowed in or near the wood-fired bath, the sauna, or around fire pits and the BBQ when lit.
In your cabin
Never leave your dog alone in the cabin, on the deck or in your car.
Dogs are not allowed on beds. Please use the blanket provided if they join you on the sofa.
Please bring your dog's own bed, and use the towel by the door for muddy paws.
Please keep barking to a minimum – sound travels in the valley, and other guests have come for the quiet.
Responsibility
You are responsible for your dog's behaviour and for any damage, injury or loss it causes, to people, animals or property.
If extra cleaning is needed (for example, dog hair on beds or soft furnishings) or something is damaged, we'll charge the cost under our Damages & Cleaning terms.
We may ask you to remove a dog that is aggressive, out of control or causing a disturbance. No refund will be given in this case.
Worrying livestock is a criminal offence, and farmers may act to protect their animals. Please keep your dog on a lead.
Please let us know straight away if anything goes wrong – we'd much rather know.
Bringing your dog? Please fill this in before you arrive
Now you’ve read the rules, we just need a few details about your dog and your confirmation that you’re happy with everything above. It only takes a couple of minutes. Please complete it at least [3] days before your stay.
